Who we are
Mud Pie is a home décor and lifestyle brand founded by Marcia Miller in 1988 with 10 home items, and has since expanded to design, manufacture and distribute thousands of new products each season across three divisions: Home, Kids and Women. Mud Pie is a female-founded and operated company headquartered in Atlanta, GA, selling to over 12,000 specialty retailers nationwide and directly to consumers at www.mudpie.com.
Mud Pie is still a privately-owned, family-operated business; Miller’s husband and children all hold key leadership positions within the company, which employs more than 200 people in the Atlanta area.
Our Roots
If you told a 10-year old Marcia Miller that one day she would found and operate a global decor, gift and lifestyle brand, she simply wouldn’t have believed you. Miller, an Atlanta native and graduate of University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism, has spent her entire career in the industry. However, it was when she worked for a rep firm at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart where she recognized her keen eye for trend spotting and skill for sales.
Miller and a partner established the first female-owned rep firm in the Southeast. The business proved successful, and in 1988 Miller bought her partner’s share to start a small gift company specializing in ceramics—Mud Pie was born. For over three decades, Miller’s Mud Pie brand has been a leader in the gift industry. Mud Pie’s design team, led by Miller, identifies and interprets cultural trends from tabletop and décor to plush toys and womens fashion must-haves.

Awards
Mud Pie has earned more than 100 awards in recognition of excellence in the gift industry, including the prestigious ICON Honors, Earnie Awards, Baby & Children’s Product News Readers’ Favorites and more. The Company has landed on both INC Magazine’s INC5000 list and The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s list of top women-owned firms in Atlanta.
Marcia Miller was nominated as a finalist in The EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the Southeast Division, and she was a two-time recipient of the gift industry’s prestigious ICON Honors. Miller received the March of Dimes Community Impact Award and the Gift for Life Trailblazers Award.
